The Headquarters of High Quality Beer
The birth of beer HQ began first with Brewstation in 2015 by Morty and Pat out the back of their adopted rugby club. A proud Cantabrian, Morty decided to venture overseas in the early 2000s, exploring and following his two main passions along the way – rugby and beer. Floating through Europe, Canada and the States he noticed tastes were changing and passion for beer was too - no longer were people satisfied with the same beers that they had been drinking all their life! Returning to New Zealand just in time to see the All Blacks host and hoist the Rugby World Cup, Morty picked up a job at a new and innovative brewing company – WilliamsWarn. Working closely with New Zealand’s first Master Brewer - Ian Williams, Morty quickly turned from a beer enthusiast to brewer, recreating the wide range of brews he had drunk during his travels, putting his Kiwi spin on them.
Noticing that the same trends that Morty saw in his travels were starting to hit the New Zealand market, BrewStation has identified a niche opportunity to provide fresh, crafted, boutique beer week to week to outlets in Auckland, all produced locally. BrewStation being market leaders in WilliamsWarn brewing technology saw this as a perfect fit given the capacity and flexibility of their brewing equipment.
